Dr Deborah Ford

MA (Oxon.) BD (Lond.) MTh (QUB) PhD (QUB)

Born and brought up on the Wirral, Deborah studied Classics at Oxford, where, more importantly, she became a Christian. After graduation she worked on two Latin dictionary projects: in St. Andrews, Scotland and in Belfast with the Royal Irish Academy/Q.U.B.

On a trip to Kenya with Wycliffe Bible Translators, Deborah met a Kenyan minister struggling to pastor a large rural community with just two resources: one copy of the Bible and an Oxford English Dictionary. This experience prompted her to resign her job to study Theology at Belfast Bible College. She then worked in Kenya with the Board of Mission Overseas, teaching New Testament at the PCEA Presbyterian College. Following postgraduate studies focusing on mission partnerships/pastoral care of missionaries and mission education in a congregational context, Deborah worked for the BMO at home in a research/resource capacity.

Currently, Deborah works for Logos Ministries International as Bible Teaching Ministry Development Manager, planning and developing distance-learning theological courses for Christians overseas. She is a member of Orangefield Presbyterian Church in East Belfast, where she is involved in preaching, discipleship and the Mission Action Team.
