Queen's University Degree Courses
Union Theological College is an integral part of the Institute of Theology at Queen's University Belfast, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the UK. Established in 1845 as one of the 3 "Queen's Colleges in Ireland", it became a fully-fledged university in 1908. Recently Queen's has become a member of the prestigious "Russell Group" of UK Universities.
Queen's has around 17,000 students from every corner of the world, and plays a vital role within life in Northern Ireland, not only academically but also culturally and economically. In its 1908 charter it was ahead of its time in making provision for a student on the governing body and for ensuring that women were equally eligible with men to hold any office and enjoy any of the advantages of the university.
A wide variety of Queen's degrees in Theology is available through Union (BD, BTh, BA, MDiv, MTh, MPhil, PhD).
We welcome applicants who wish to take a joint or major/minor degree along with another Humanities subject.
We also welcome students from other University departments who wish to take single modules in Theology as part of their overall course.
Union is situated at the heart of the Queen's campus and Union students are full "internal" students of the University: all University facilities are available to them.
