Union College has a long tradition of academic excellence and practical training stretching back over 150 years. We also attach great importance to the contemporary relevance of theology in the 21st century. Queen's University is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the UK and also one of the most innovative and forward looking .

Union College draws students from a wide age range (from school leaver to retired), and from all (or no) denominational backgrounds. Students come from all sections of the Northern Ireland Community, from other parts of the UK and of Ireland and from overseas.

The College has a clear Christian ethos and those who wish to do so are encouraged to take part in College Worship and Fellowship. Many of our students are at Union for a vocational training that will lead to formal ministry or mission. It is often possible to combine formal degree studies with ministry training programmes.

However, our degree courses are open to all applicants regardless of denomination or belief - and it is important to us that all our students feel welcome and at home whatever their background.

A range of opportunities for postgraduate study is available from the MDiv (for those whose first degree is in a subject other than Theology), throuth the MTh (for those who want to build on their first degree in Theology), to the research degrees, MPhil and PhD. The libreary and research facilities are excellent and all postgraduate students have a close working relationship with members of Faculty.
