As part of its on-going development, Union College is seeking to appoint suitably-qualified people to two new positions in the College’s administrative team. These posts will give successful applicants the opportunity to use their skills and gifts in a creative way that will support the faculty and that will contribute positively to the experience of students at Union College. HEAD OF ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION
Salary £32,530 to £39,647 per annum
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the provision of administrative support for academic staff, and for the provision of student support services. Responsibilities will include taking the lead on the College’s marketing, recruitment and publicity strategy (particularly around online courses), managing the College’s Admissions Policy, maintaining the student record system, overseeing compliance to the standards required by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, and promoting the Christian ethos of the College.
You will need to have a university degree (or a combination of a recognised relevant professional qualification and at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role), at least 3 years’ experience of working in an administrative role in an education environment, 1 year’s experience of supervising staff and of ensuring good governance, and a personal Christian faith.
Salary £29,074 to £34,974 per annum
The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring appropriate maintenance and upkeep of the College buildings, overseeing the financial administration and financial record-keeping within the College (including the calculation and collection of student fees), oversight of the administration of the 26-bedroom College Residence, managing the College Catering and Cleaning contracts, and for acting as College Health and Safety Officer.
You will need to have a university degree (or combination of a recognised relevant professional qualification and at least 2 years relevant experience), a GCSE in Mathematics or equivalent qualification, an in-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, and 1 year’s experience of line managing staff and of managing finances (including the collection of revenues, budgeting and monitoring).
