Dr Kevin Vanhoozer

Kevin J. Vanhoozer (PhD, Cambridge University) is Director of Postgraduate Research at The Alexandrian Institute and Blanchard Professor of Theology at Wheaton College's Litfin Divinity School, where he teaches and supervises doctoral students. He is the author of numerous books including Is There a Meaning in This Text? (Zondervan, 1998), The Drama of Doctrine (Westminster John Knox, 2005), Remythologizing Theology: Divine Action, Passion, and Authorship (Cambridge University Press, 2010), and Mere Christian Hermeneutics: Transfiguring What It Means to Read the Bible Theologically (Zondervan Academic, 2024). He is currently completing a four-volume systematic theology under contract with Baker Academic. He has also published widely in journals including the International Journal of Systematic Theology, Westminster Theological Journal, Modern Theology, and others. His research focuses on the theological interpretation of Scripture, hermeneutical method, and the movement from biblical text to Christian doctrine, with sustained attention to questions of divine action, the nature of doctrine, and the relationship between Scripture and theology. He is a Senior Fellow of the C. S. Lewis Institute, a member of the Lausanne Theology Working Group, and serves on the Board of Trustees of Westmont College. He lives in the greater Chicago area with his family.
