Librarian

Joy Conkey

BEd. MSc. MCLIP

After graduating as a Teacher I taught in various Primary Schools in Northern Ireland for six years. Having always had an interest in Libraries I decided to pursue a career in librarianship. I completed a Masters in Information and Library Studies at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen and won the CILIPS Annual Student Award for being the highest achieving information and library studies student in Scotland. I began working in Union Theological College in 2013 as Deputy Librarian. In August 2015 I became a chartered librarian and have since revalidated several times. From 2016 to 2019 I served as Secretary of the CILIP Ireland Committee. I have written articles for library journals such The Bulletin of the Association of British Theological and Philosophical Libraries. I became Librarian in Union College in March 2021. I enjoy helping people to find the information they need for their personal and professional research and development.
