Online Exhibition – The Bible in English

Share:

In the run up to the Martin Luther. Bible translator, illustrator and publisher Conference and Exhibitions, planned for 12-13 September 2022, we are releasing a new online exhibition.

The latest online exhibition details the various English Bible translations from the time of Wycliffe and Tyndale up to, and including, the Geneva Bible. Numerous pictures of Geneva Bibles from the Gamble Library’s holdings are in the exhibition, which discusses the various features of these Bibles, and something of their provenance. Also included are pictures of Erasmus’s New Testament from 1522, which belongs to the Russell Library, Maynooth University. (Reproduced by permission of the Librarian, Maynooth University). The impact of the Geneva Bible is also explored. This is an important and often overlooked part of our history which is definitely worthy of investigation.

The Conference programme will be released in coming months. Make sure you save the date so you can attend the Conference on 12-13 September.
